Xiaomi Mi CC9, CC9e launched: India price and launch, specifications, and everything else you need to know

first_imgFor a long time, Xiaomi was rumoured to unveil two midrange phones in China that would be sold to the global markets as the Mi A3 Android One phones. Well, Xiaomi launched these phones in China yesterday and they promise a premium smartphone experience. A total of three phones have been launched – the Mi CC9, Mi CC9e and Mi CC9 Meitu. All phones offer premium specifications and camera experiences.The Mi CC9 is the interesting one in the lot as this could become the Mi A3 in India. The Mi CC9 flaunts a premium gradient design, class-leading specifications and quite capable cameras borrowed from the Mi 9 flagships. The phone relies on the Snapdragon 710 chipset that we have previously seen on premium phones. There’s also an in-display fingerprint sensor and a 48-megapixel primary camera at the back.Xiaomi is yet to confirm the existence of the Mi A3 phones but leaks have confirmed that Xiaomi will be re-christening the Mi CC9 as the Mi A3 in India. Since the chances are high, let’s have a look at what the Mi CC9 series have in store for us.Mi CC9, Mi CC9e specifications:Display: The Mi CC9 sports a 6.3-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display and the Mi CC9e sports a 6-inch HD+ AMOLED display.Processor: For the Mi CC9, Xiaomi is using a Snapdragon 710 chipset whereas for the Mi CC9e, the company has used a new Snapdragon 665 chipset.RAM: You can get the Mi CC9 with 6GB RAM as standard whereas the Mi CC9e comes with a choice of 4GB or 6GB RAM.advertisement Storage: The Mi CC9 can be had with 64GB and 128GB storage options, with an option to expand up to 256GB via microSD card slot. The Mi CC9e can be had with 64GB and 128GB storage options with an option to expand up to 256GB via micro SD card.Rear camera: For the Mi CC9, Xiaomi has offered a triple camera combination of a 48-megapixel primary camera, an 8-megapixel secondary wide-angle camera and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. The Mi CC9e sports the same camera setup as well.Front camera: Both the Mi CC9 and Mi CC9e have a 32-megapixel selfie camera at the front.Battery: The Mi CC9 and Mi CC9e pack the same 4030mAh battery. However, the CC9 comes with 18W fast charging and the CC9e gets a 10W fast charging.OS: Both the Mi CC9 and Mi CC9e run on Xiaomi’s MIUI 10 based on Android 9 Pie.Mi CC9, Mi CC9e features:–The Mi CC9 is rumoured to be brought to the global markets as the successor to last year’s Mi A2. The Mi CC9 has all the next-generation specifications over the Mi A2 and Xiaomi is expected to only replace its MIUI with stock Android interface. Rumours also suggest the CC9e could become the Mi A3 Lite in global markets.–The Mi CC9 and Mi CC9e completely ditch capacitive fingerprint sensors and opt for the optical in-display sensor. This has led to Xiaomi using AMOLED panels for both the phones. However, the CC9 gets the standard Full HD+ display and CC9e has to make do with a low-res HD+ display. The Mi CC9 and Mi CC9e also have a waterdrop notch on the top.–The Mi CC9 Meitu is a special edition version of the Mi CC9. It offers 8GB RAM and 256GB storage as standard. Coming on a white gradient colour, it features Meitu camera optimizations and AI low-light portrait photography. –The Mi CC9 is using a Snapdragon 710 chipset. The Snapdragon 710 has been around for long and Xiaomi is itself using the newer Snapdragon 730 on the Redmi K20. The Snapdragon 710 is close to the Snapdragon 845 in terms of performance.Mi CC9, Mi CC9e price and expected India launchThe Mi CC9 costs CNY 1,799 (approximately Rs 18,000) for the variant with 6GB RAM and 64GB storage variant. For CNY 1,999 (approximately Rs 20,000), the Mi CC9 gets 6GB RAM and 128GB storage options. The phone is available in Dark Blue Planet, Dark Night Prince, and White Lover colour options.The Mi CC9e starts from CNY 1,299 (approximately Rs 13,000) for the variant with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage model whereas for CNY 1,399 (approximately Rs 14,000), buyers can get the variant with 6GB RAM and 64GB storage. Also the top-end variant costs CNY 1,599 (approximately Rs 16,000) and it offers 6GB RAM and 128GB storage.
