They are not impressed with him at all and what he said has not helped at all.”After today’s clash with Southampton, Spurs face a huge test on Tuesday night as Bayern Munich come to town in the Champions League. Spurs stars fume at Mauricio Pochettino’s ‘agenda’ claims after Colchester humiliation TOTTENHAM host Southampton in North London desperately needing a good result to ease the pain of Tuesday night’s humiliating Carabao Cup exit to Colchester United.Mauricio Pochettino made ten changes to Spurs’ starting XI in midweek – offering a series of fringe players the opportunity to stake their claims for a regular position in the team.2 How Tottenham could line up against SouthamptonBut the much-rotated squad badly let their manager down as Pochettino exited a cup competition to lower league opposition for the first time as Spurs manager. The likes of Victor Wanyama, Dele Alli, Davinson Sanchez and Kyle Walker-Peters failed to impress – meaning their Argentine manager will likely turn back to his more established starters for today’s match.New signings Giovani Lo Celso and Ryan Sessegnon remain on the treatment table – meaning there won’t be a full debut for either just yet.Spurs distinctly lacked firepower against the U’s, and Pochettino will turn back to rested talisman Harry Kane – who has banged in four goals in six games so far this season.2It is also likely that want-away playmaker Christian Eriksen will be recalled to the starting XI.The Dane feebly missed a penalty in the shootout on Tuesday night, but at his best could provide Tottenham the spark they’ve badly missed at times this season. After flirting with a back three again against Colchester, Spurs are likely to revert to a back four – with recalls for Danny Rose, Jan Vertonghen, Toby Alderweireld and the resurgent Serge Aurier.Hugo Lloris was rested in midweek and also missed out last weekend after his wife gave birth, but the skipper will return between the sticks today.Tanguy Ndombele has shown flashes of class since his £65million summer move from Lyon – but could be left out against Southampton if Pochettino decides to revert to a back-to-basics approach with Harry Winks and Moussa Sissoko at the heart of the midfield. The 30-year-old Sissoko was handed a new four-year contract on Friday.Erik Lamela has surprisingly started every single Premier League match so far this season and is likely to keep his place in the attacking trident behind Kane – with Son Heung-min and Eriksen to be preferred to Lucas Moura and Dele Alli.ACCA WITH LADBROKES Pick up a whole load of acca features to help you land the big one
TOTTENHAM host RB Leipzig in the first leg of their Champions League Last 16 tie.But they’ll be a little short up front, with no Harry Kane or Son Heung-min.1 Son Heung-min is the latest absentee for Jose Mourinho’s Tottenham as he misses RB Leipzig clashCredit: ReutersThe South Korean has netted six goals in his last five matches for Tottenham – but will sit out the European affair. Why is Son Heung-min not playing against RB Leipzig?Son Heung-min will miss the Champions League clash after picking up an arm injury in the victory over Aston Villa on February 16.The attacker picked up the injury in just the first minute of the match, after colliding with Ezri Konsa.Yet, he proceeded to play the entire 90 minutes, even scoring twice including a winner in injury time.Scans after the match revealed that he has broken his arm, which means he will be out for some time. That becomes a worrying sign for Spurs who are already without Kane until April. It leaves Tottenham with just 18-year-old Troy Parrott as their only recognised central striker, while Lucas Moura has played up front along with Dele Alli as a false nine. And while Barcelona have been given special permission to sign a new forward following injuries to Ousmane Dembele and Luis Suarez, Tottenham will not have the same luxury. For the RB Leipzig game, Mourinho has gone with Lucas Moura up front with Giovani Lo Celso, Dele Alli and Steven Bergwijn in behind.📋 #THFC: Lloris (C), Aurier, Alderweireld, Sanchez, Davies, Winks, Gedson, Lo Celso, Dele, Bergwijn, Lucas.📲 @WilliamHill latest (18+)https://t.co/5rzKzwioi8#UCL ⚪️ #COYS pic.twitter.com/BZnH3TwVuY— Tottenham Hotspur (@SpursOfficial) February 19, 2020 Most Read in FootballTHROUGH ITRobbie Keane reveals Claudine’s father was ’50-50′ in coronavirus battleTOP SELLERGavin Whelan has gone from League of Ireland to David Beckham’s InstagramPicturedAN EYEFULMeet Playboy model and football agent Anamaria Prodan bidding to buy her own clubI SAW ROORodallega saw Rooney ‘drinking like madman’ & Gerrard ‘on bar dancing shirtless’ExclusiveRIYAD RAIDMan City’s Riyad Mahrez has three luxury watches stolen in £500,000 raidNEXT STEPJonny Hayes set to move to English Championship having been let go by CelticREF RELEASEDChampions League ref Vincic released by cops after arrest in prostitution raidKEANE DEALEx Man United youth ace David Jones says Roy Keane negotiated a contract for himWhen will Son return? The injury has all-but ended the South Korean’s season, with initial projections that he would miss the next ten games. That would have seen him return for Spurs’ clash against Bournemouth on April 18.But in his pre-match press conference for their Champions League clash against RB Leipzig, Jose Mourinho revealed that estimation was too generous, declaring Son could be out for the rest of the season. The Portuguese boss said: “I am not counting on Son playing again this season, in my mind no.”We are going to miss him. The club wrote a nice statement. If I was the one to write the statement I would write different. We miss him.”The situation couldn’t be worse. That is obvious. There is nothing we can do. We are going to play with the players we have available.”I was worried about not having attacking options on the bench, now I don’t have attacking options on the pitch.”
After blowing Manly away late in a runaway 38-18 win at Lottoland on Saturday afternoon, the two best pieces of news for Souths fans were the reinvigorated forward pack – which seemed to benefit from the return of George Burgess despite one costly error – and the immediate spark generated between fullback Alex Johnston, five-eighth Cody Walker, halfback Adam Reynolds and dummy-half pair Robbie Farah and Damien Cook. Johnston scored two tries and set up one while running 115 metres in an error-free afternoon, Reynolds set up a try and kicked beautifully, Farah scored one try (and almost had a second) and set up two. Cook added a ton of spark, darting for 73 metres, offloading three times and creating a line break. Walker though was without doubt the best of the lot and turned the match after the Rabbitohs fell behind early. Three line breaks, two line break assists, two try assists and a try amount to a fair reflection of his game-breaking afternoon.”I thought Cody was our best player today,” Reynolds said after the game.”He’s been one of our best players last year, he’s come onto the scene and hasn’t taken a backward step and continued to learn and grow. It’s a credit to him, he’s got a young family and he lives his lifestyle better than everyone else that I know, he’s a real family man and when he comes to football he’s a real footballer.”He takes pride about whatever he does. It’s taken him a while to get into first grade but he’s not missing a beat now, he’s taken his opportunity with both hands.”The form of Johnston – whose preferred position is fullback – was pleasing for both Reynolds and coach Michael Maguire.”Obviously Greggy (Inglis) the big fella’s not there and I thought ‘AJ’ did a good job today,” Reynolds said.”He’s pretty familiar with that role anyway, he’s been training there all pre-season and all the boys have got faith in him. He’s a talent, he’s a young kid and his will to learn is second to none.”Me and Cody and Robbie’s job is to take a bit of pressure off him. He’s a key member of our team and the more ball we get him in open space the better for him. He’s got a lot of speed to burn and his choices with the ball are excellent as well.”Maguire said he was pleased to see Johnston show the form he did.”He’s definitely got that in him and now it’s just building on that,” Maguire said.”He’s always wanted to have a crack at fullback. He’s a South Sydney kid that’s come through all the grades and it’s great to see him excelling like he did [on Saturday] and he’s just got to keep going.”Unlike last week when the loss of two outside backs to injury threw the bench rotation out, Saturday’s game gave a better indication of how Farah and Cook may combine as the season goes on. Cook replaced Farah after 35 minutes and played out the game. Farah returned after 65 minutes and both were on the field for the final 15 minutes.Maguire believed Farah and Cook combined intelligently.”Our two dummy halves in Damien Cook and Robbie Farah, I thought they played a really smart game and when you’ve got Cookie out there with Robbie, those combinations, we’ve just got to keep growing them,” Maguire said.”We played around with both, whether Robbie plays lock or Damien plays hooker, we do play around with that at training. Obviously with Cookie, his speed through the middle, they can double team out of dummy half so we’ve got opportunities like that through the middle.”
The Rising star, who is based in Lae, has been performing very well with the highest number of goals scored in every game. The Morobean has scored a total of eight goals so far in the tournament, four goals against Vanuatu, two against Cook Islands and another two against Fiji today.Giada has represented PNG in a number of tournaments including the 2015 Pacific Games and 2014 Youth Olympic Games in Nanjing, China. She has lived up to expectations with her attacking ability and is a strong contender for the Golden Boot Award. Her two goals today have secured a semi-final spot in the tournament together with Fiji, New Zealand and New Caledonia.
Jesús Navas will write a new chapter in his legend in the team of his life. The world champion was confirmed in the starting lineup against Athletic, so He will play his 500th match between all competitions with the Sevilla shirt and, as if that were not enough, he will wear the captain’s bracelet. The one of Los Palacios plays his 13th season as a Sevilla player, in which he has played 361 matches in LaLiga, 55 in the Copa del Rey, 46 in the Europa League, 30 in the Champions League, 5 in the Spanish Super Cup and 2 in the European Super Cup to add the 499 tonight will leave behind. If you take into account the 183 games in which he defended the Manchester City shirt and the 42 in which he wore the National Team, the result is that Navas is on his way to over 750 games As a professional this season. At 34, the ceiling of Jesús Navas remains unseen. Lopetegui, how can it be otherwise, gave him ownership on the right side from the start and Navas has responded by being a starter in all the matches that have been played in LaLiga and only one being left unfinished. It was in Valladolid, when he left the lawn in the discount weighted by an injury that continued giving the can in the later parties, which was not lost. If it had not been for that problem, Navas would be the only Sevilla field player who would have played every minute LaLiga, which does not prevent him from being the most used player in the competition for Lopetegui only surpassed by Vaclik.2020 is a year more than exciting for a Jesus Navas who does not want to get off the national team train to play his second Eurocup.
The side regretted that this series of injuries have prevented him from competing and helping his team, which is undoubtedly his worst streak and an ordeal. And the numbers prove him right, since If the previous seven campaigns are compared, the numbers are very significant. It should be noted that the two years in Seville and the five in Liverpool, Moreno throws a record of 29 weeks off. While this season and after only six months, the defense has already been about 20 weeks away. Moreno had only bumps, muscle discomfort, some ankle problem and back problems, which makes The average week off was about four weeks absence per campaign. While In these six months the player has already suffered muscle discomfort, tears and sprained ankle, who have pulverized those almost five weeks of annual leave, which the player had on average. Moreover, last season the side added just over two months of absence, something that already exceeded in these six or seven months of season.A streak that the defense recognizes that it has been “complicated”, and that it has come to “despair”. Adding that: “I came to Villarreal to recover my level and the injuries have not allowed me to. I had a bad time, since in my career I have not had so many injuries. Therefore, I have been through bad times, since it has been a long time and in my career I had only had injuries for days and not this. The people of the club have helped me a lot and they have taken the subject from iron, although it has not been easy. It cost me, since the expectations were high and I could not help and be with the team, “he said. Now, Moreno is back. After playing in Wanda and feeling good, he hopes to be on the team and his ordeal ends. A return he admits makes him: “Happy and euphoric. Since the other day I was able to play and it was something that made me very happy, I felt elated and eager to play and help the team,” he said. Almost 20 weeks off. That’s what it has been Alberto Brown outside the work dynamics of Villarreal since the season started. A situation that the player assures is “totally anomalous”, something that “he had never lived”. The defense acknowledged that in previous seasons “the injuries were few, of short duration and only a few days,” he said.
9 cards in a ‘white glove’ matchIt is curious what happened on Saturday at Eibar-Mallorca (1-2) on Saturday in Ipurua. In a ‘white glove’ match, the referee Xavier Estrada Fernández had taken 5 cards before the 90th minute, to the locals Paulo Oliveira, José Ángel ‘Cote’ and Orellana; and to visitors Antonio Raillo and Dani Rodríguez. The ‘normality’ jumped through the air with the goal of Pedro Bigas, central defender of Eibar, born in Palma de Mallorca and former player of Mallorca. After the goal (1-2) with which the eibarreses cut distances, which came in time of discount, the vermilion goalkeeper, Manolo Reina took the ball inside his goal and did not release it to delay the kick-off, and try Avoid a match that did not occur. That caused the anger of the eibarreses players who claimed the ball to resume the game, but the goalkeeper of Villanueva del Trabuco (Málaga) continued to hold the ball as if it were his property, which despaired the Catalans.A dialectical brawl formed on the grass, where players from both teams met verbally because of this unusual situation. The referee then admonished by, discussing with the rivals, both the local Sergi Enrich, and Charles; as the visitor Reina. But even with the final whistle, the mess is over. Then the reproaches of one another began again. The referee took out, already finished the game and also to discuss, the yellow card to Yoel, substitute goalkeeper of Eibar, who had jumped to the grass at the conclusion of the duel.No one left the lawn. The Barca goalkeeper had to intervene, Dmitrovic, to mediate the discussion, taking his homologue Queen, who was exalted, by the arm, which managed to appease the spirits. Thus, several minutes after the end of the match, the players finally went to the locker room. The verbal noise, in which the arbitrator reflected in the minutes, there were no insults or threats – there will be no sanctions -, caused the party to end with a ‘war party’ of 9 cards (6 for the Guipuzcoans and 3 for the Balearic Islands). Paulo Oliveira, defense of Eibar, will be low by penalty before the Real society in Ipurua on Tuesday (20 hours) in a postponed match, corresponding to day 24 of the First Division League. The game between the two Guipuzcoan clubs must have been played on Sunday, February 16, but was suspended due to air pollution due to a landfill fire in Zaldibar (Bizkaia), caused by a landslide that buried two workers, whose bodies have not yet been found. The Portuguese central saw a yellow card in the Eibar-Mallorca (1-2) meeting on Saturday in Ipurua that will cause his absence due to accumulation of reprimands. He skated on the wet grass when he was going to play a ball, which he crossed, and suffered a strong encounter with ‘Cucho’ Hernández in which both were injured. This will be the second punishment match that Paulo Oliveira will meet. The first was against Atlético de Madrid in Ipurua, where the Guipuzcoans won 2-0 without their contest on January 18. In the previous duel against Valencia (1-0) in Mestalla, he saw two yellow cards that caused his expulsion. Before playing in Valencia he had 4 cards, but when he saw the red card for a double warning, the two yellow cards were not counted and his ‘score’ continued at 4.The Portuguese played 19 league games, in which he scored a goal, precisely against Mallorca in Son Moix, where the Eibarreses also fell (2-1) on the first league day of the 2019-2020 season.Eibar (27 points) has lost the only two games in which it has faced the Balearics in the First Division. Thus, Mallorca (25 points) has in its favor the particular ‘goal-average’, something fundamental in the struggle for permanence.
