first_img Updated: 9:47 AM FBI requests public assistance to identify San Diego bank robber Posted: October 16, 2018 KUSI Newsroom Categories: Local San Diego News KUSI Newsroom, SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the San Diego Violent Crimes Task Force are seeking the public’s assistance to identify the individual responsible for two bank robberies in San Diego, California.On September 11, 2018, the Wells Fargo Bank, located at 5522 Balboa Avenue, San Diego, California was robbed by a lone male.On October 6, 2018, the Wells Fargo Bank, located at 276 N. El Camino Real, Encinitas, CA was also robbed by a lone male.The suspect is described as a white, middle-aged man with dark gray hair and an athletic build.Investigators believe that the same individual is responsible for both robberies.  In each robbery, the robber approached the teller and presented a note demanding money from the bank in a similar manner.  The robber wore a hat and sunglasses in an attempt to cover his face. Each time, the robber was provided a sum of cash and departed the bank on foot.Anyone with information regarding the robber is urged to contact San Diego FBI at (858) 320-1800 or San Diego Crime Stoppers at (888 580-8477).
